Mountain lion
Puma concolor · cougar · puma
A wide-ranging cat on the same corridor; residents almost never see one, and should not feed deer.

Present, rarely seen. CDFW’s advice is ordinary High Desert sense: do not feed deer, bring pets in at night, and avoid hiking alone at dawn or dusk on canyon trails. This is not a how-to and not a panic page. Wikipedia and CDFW have the full living-with list.
